The town is dominated by the stunning Byzantine tower; the rest of the town is buzzing with places to eat traditional food. The town itself is not particularly picturesque, but the surrounding beaches, scenery and landscape are majestic. It's good base for exploring the area and for getting boats to other areas as well as Mount Athos.

Great town for food and multicultural experiences.
Great town for food and multicultural experiences. Bad town to be in if it's raining as the power grid immediately fails and there are only a few places that have their own generators. The beach is ok but not that great - as in there are many other better beaches within one hour drive from the town.

If you decide to go to Ouranoupoli is a must to rent a boat. The cost is 70 eur/day (without permit) and you can go to Ammouliani and Drenia Islans by your self.
There you can find restaurants with excellent food.
You can stop in any area you want where you can spend some quality time.
I recommend the local pies with vanilla / apples / cheese / spinach...

An excellent starting place to visit Atos Monasteries by males while you (females) swim or sunbathe or drink on the beach :) You can enjoy delicious food or good house wine in various small restaurants along the shore. Advisable to buy olive oil or olives from small local producers on a very good price. Don't miss the wine too.

There are some prejudices about this city.
There are some prejudices about this city. Although I visited this city many times with my wife, we did not encounter anything that would disturb us. It is a very calm and peaceful city and its people are also very kind. Also, the food in the restaurants is very tasty, the prices are reasonable.
I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for one night and I was thoroughly pleased. The room with a balcony offered a breathtaking view of the sea, and it was only a short 12-minute walk from the center. The room itself was immaculate, with modern amenities and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was well-maintained and met my expectations.
I must commend the owner for their exceptional responsiveness and attentiveness to our suggestions for improvement. This level of dedication truly sets this establishment apart.
Extremely clean, most kind and friendly staff (everybody who works in this hotel deserves a pay raise for being so kind, polite, always smiling and hard working!), location, food variety (and really delicious as well), crystal clear sea with clean and organized sandy beach, amazing pool with an even more amazing view. We would definitely come back every year! The hotel has everything you need for a perfect relaxed vacation. Thank you Aristoteles!
Hosts were lovely and very relaxed about the checkout time.
Although Ouranoupoli is so small that one could say that all places are well located, the added advantage of Athos is that it's right opposite the bus stop, and really close to tavernas and the small village beach.
The room was a standard Greek "rooms to let" kind of place: comfy, clean, with a small veranda and a small fridge. We'd definitely consider staying there again.
Thanks!
The hotel is nice and the room is well equipped. Very good location and plenty of parking spots in front of the hotel.
The staff was nice and helpful, they resolved some of the problems that we had.
We haven't tried the breakfast nor used the pool, so I can't review them.
Overall it was a nice experience, we would stay here again but maybe choose a bigger room.
The location is nice, the place is quiet and peaceful. Our rooms were with nice sea views and they were very clean. The beach side is perfect, 3 minutes of walking by the hotel. There is fully renovated beach bar including food and beverage.
There are enough sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach side and around the pool. The hotel is perfect for family vacation.
Beautiful setting with terrace looking out over the sea. Room was modern and well designed. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely - could have sat there for hours just looking out at the sea. The hotel is family owned and run and they were very friendly and helpful, especially when it came to dropping us into Ouranoupoli where it’s difficult to park.
We caught a good deal, one night in a deluxe bungalow on ground floor with terrace The room was spacious, a bit outdated furniture, but in very good condition. A/C works well.
Reception was nice, as well as the service people in the taverna.
Breakfast was OK. I do not expect a superior breakfast generally in holiday hotels below 5 stars,
Absolutely, we had a wonderful time at one of the city's oldest hotels. It's got that genuine, authentic charm that's hard to come by.
Cleanliness was spot on, and the location? Just perfect! We didn't have to go far to find great places to eat and shop.
The hosts were super friendly and always ready to help. We'd definitely come back!
Nice and clean hotel. We had a sea view room with a very sunny balcony. Few parking spaces for the hotel size. Nice and tasty breakfast but we stayed 2 nights only so not sure if it has a big food diversity.
Nice and clean beach, really close and you can go through a tunnel from the hotel directly to the beach, avoiding crossing the road .
Our host Efrossini was very helpful during our stay. The cleanness everywhere was perfect. The sight from the balcony of the room was so picturesque - see on the left and a forest on the other side. The feeling is like at home, we received easter bread and red eggs - very kind thing from the hotel.
We will come again.
The hotel is located in a very convenient place, near the beach, the center and the port. Taverns, bars, markets and all shops are just a step away. The room was good for our needs, only the bathroom needs some renovation and maintenance. We are able to park our motorbike in the street near the hotel.
The design of the hotel with its elegant decor and stylish front garden and the location on the way into town.
Walked by years ago, finally stayed there and had my choice confirmed. Extremeley helpful, nice staff throughout, lovely breakfast, too.
The location at the beach is great and the water beautiful. it offers good breakfast and friendly staff. There are quite a few broken things around but if you like a quiet hotel without entertainment, you will have a good time.
Very kind and helpful people. We even got lost at some point but the daughter of the owner actually drove us from their second hotel to the one that we had the reservation. Very polite and kind gesture.
Breakfast was excellent. Staff was wonderful, Effie really extended herself for me and offered to get up early to drive me to the 6am Mt. Athos boat. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Everithing was perfect. The flat was very clean and the receptionist was very kind. The hotel is near the main street of Ouranoupoli but at the same time is very quiet.
